Daishi Tech Pte. Ltd. ("we") publishes haShabbat. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions: shalom@hashabbat.com.
What we collect
We only collect what the features you use need to work:
- Account: your email address, and the sign-in identifier from Apple or Google if you use them. For Sign in with Apple we also store a token used solely to revoke access if you delete your account.
- Preferences: your denomination, home location (city, coordinates, and timezone), optional display name, and reminder settings.
- Loved ones: the names, relationships, and dates of passing you add for yahrzeit reminders.
- Saved places: the kosher places you save and any verification notes you write.
- Questions you ask: the text you send to the Parasha summary and Ask the AI Rabbi features, together with your denomination for context.
- Notifications: a push token and your device timezone, used to deliver reminders.
- Location: your precise location is used only when you look for nearby kosher places or tap “Update location”. It is never collected in the background.
How we use it
To compute your Shabbat and holiday times, send the reminders you turn on, find kosher places near you, generate learning content, and operate your account.
We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Sharing
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to run the app — for example secure cloud hosting, sign-in, push notifications, and AI features. They may only process your data to provide these services on our behalf, and may not use it for their own purposes.
Storage and security
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256), and isolated per user with row-level security so each account can only access its own records. On your device, your session and preferences are kept in the system keychain. We limit internal access to what is needed to operate and support the service.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data until you delete it or close your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This permanently erases your profile, loved ones, saved places, conversations, and reminder settings.
Your rights
You can access and correct most of your information directly in the app, and delete all of it by deleting your account. Subject to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and, where applicable, equivalent laws such as the GDPR, you may also ask us to access, correct, or erase your data by emailing shalom@hashabbat.com.
International transfers
Our service providers may process your data on servers outside your country. We only use providers that protect it consistently with this policy.
Children
haShabbat is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date below. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
